Delete your notex account

For the notex app (PDF to LaTeX), coming to Google Play and the App Store, operated by Jacob Wadzinske.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or your projects. Use one of the two ways below.

Option 1: delete in the app

  1. Open notex and sign in.
  2. Open the Account tab.
  3. Tap Delete account, then confirm.
  4. Sign in again with Google or Apple when asked (this confirms it is you).
  5. Wait for the message “Your notex account and all its projects have been deleted.”

If notex is signed in to the same account on another device, sign out there first. A device that is still signed in can, for up to an hour after the deletion, create a new empty profile (your email address and no credits) that is not removed automatically; if that happens, email us and we will delete it.

If a conversion is still running, the app asks you to wait until it finishes; nothing is deleted until then. If you signed in with Apple, the app also revokes notex’s access to your Apple ID; if that step fails, remove notex under Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.

Option 2: request deletion without the app

You do not need to install or open the app.

  1. Email support@notex.us with the subject “Delete my notex account”.
  2. Send it from the email address of the Google or Apple account you sign in to notex with, and say which one you use (Google or Apple). If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, tell us that, and we will explain how to confirm the account.
  3. We reply to that address to confirm the request, then delete the account and its data as described below, within 30 days. We will email you when it is done.

If you signed in with Apple, we cannot revoke notex’s access to your Apple ID for you by email: remove notex under Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple on your iPhone or iPad (or at account.apple.com). If notex is installed on any device, sign out of it there.

What is deleted

Any remaining credits are forfeited and cannot be restored.

To delete a single project but keep your account, open the project in the app and tap Delete.

What is kept, and for how long

Some copies are not removed at once. They are removed automatically on the schedule below; the last two rows are the exceptions.
