Support
Help with the notex app: how to reach us, how to delete your account, and answers to common questions.
Contact us
Email support@notex.us. Tell us whether you sign in with Google or Apple. If your question is about a project, include the message the app showed, if there was one.
Delete your account
In the app: open the Account tab, tap Delete account, confirm, and sign in again when asked. This deletes your account, every project and its files, and any remaining credits.
Without the app: email us from the address you sign in with. Delete your notex account has both ways step by step, and what is kept afterwards and for how long.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. To delete one project and keep your account, open the project, tap Delete project, then Delete. If a conversion is still running, wait for it to finish first; this applies to deleting your account too.
Questions
What can I convert?
A PDF. notex is made for handwritten notes, math included, and typed pages can be converted too. If your notes are photos, put them into one PDF first with your phone’s document scanner or any scanning app, then choose that PDF in notex.
How large can a PDF be?
Up to 25 MB and 50 pages. The app checks the file size before it uploads anything. A conversion of a PDF with more pages fails and its credit is refunded; split the PDF into parts and convert each one as its own project.
What are credits?
Each conversion uses one credit. New accounts start with 3 free credits, once per Google or Apple account: deleting your account and signing in again does not give you new ones. Your balance is on the Account tab. You can’t buy credits yet.
Do I get the credit back if a conversion fails?
Yes. When a conversion fails, its credit is refunded. Converting the same project again uses a new credit.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes, as a safeguard: 100 conversions per account per day. The count starts again at midnight UTC. The Account tab shows how many you have used today.
How many projects can I keep?
Up to 100. Delete projects you no longer need to make room for new ones.
What do I get back?
The LaTeX source (a .tex file) and a compiled PDF. Read the PDF in the app, or share the .tex file to another app to keep editing it. If the LaTeX doesn’t compile, the conversion counts as failed and the credit is refunded, but the .tex file is kept, so you can still share it and fix it yourself.
The model misread something. What can I do?
Look for red text in the PDF: notex asks the model to wrap anything it isn’t sure it read correctly in \typo{…}, which prints in red. Correct it in the .tex file, or start a new project and describe your notation, for example “vectors in bold, \mathbb{R} for the reals”.
Who reads my notes?
An AI model: the page images of your PDF, the project name and the options you chose (organization level, note type and notation) are sent to Claude, Anthropic’s model, running on Amazon Bedrock, only to convert them. Your documents are not used to train models. notex keeps an uploaded PDF for 30 days after upload, and the LaTeX and PDF until you delete the project or your account. The privacy policy has the full details.
How do I sign in?
With Google on Android and iOS, or with Apple on iOS. notex has no passwords and no other way to sign in.
Do I need to allow notifications?
No. They are optional and only tell you when a conversion has finished or failed. Without them, the project shows its status in the app.
Where can I download notex?
Not yet: notex is coming soon to Android and iOS, and is not in the App Store or on Google Play.
